Salute Military Golf Association Event

GolfGym,Golf Fitness,Golf Biomechanics,Coach Joey D,SMGACoach Joey D, his wife Cindy and Ken & Vicki from GolfGym headed to the Olney Golf Course in Olney, Maryland on May 1st. Jim Estes, the founder of Salute Military Golf Association (SMGA) invited us to present a clinic to nearly 50 of our countries finest heroes.

These wounded warriors from Walter Reid and Bethesda hospitals have found that golf brings them a real sense of "normalcy". Our team was grateful to have the chance to work directly with these dedicated young Americans.

Joey gave a presentation on the importance of biomechanics and golf. This is especially challenging for the warriors who have lost limbs or are debilitated in some manner. Joey also told of his own experience having to fight a life threatening bout with cancer at the age of 18.

It was a great day for the golfers and us. The Sponsors really stepped up with gifts for the attendees. Cleveland Golf donated their new wedges. Amino Vital donated those very familiar golf towels used by most of the PGA Tour players along with water bottles and nutrients for greater performance. BrushT and Srixon donated tees and balls and St. Martins/McMillan Press donated copies of Joeys book, "Fix Your Body, Fix Your Swing", and a copy of a newly release novel called "Fighter Pilot".

The event also included a skills challenge and instruction by 12 very dedicated PGA Professionals.
